Woke up late
And the rush of the world set my head spinning freely
I hesitate

The TV’s on
Showing me things I wish I didn’t see
It’s simply all wrong
A matter of fact anchor describing catastrophe

I long for a calm
I yearn for a peace
I look to a bright day
And a total release
From the trappings
Of this insanity

The mundane brings me down
With its trivial pursuits
I’ve hit lowest ground
I’ve sunk deeper than blue

Stay up late
The TV’s still on but it’s just a test pattern
I contemplate
The events of the day that left me feeling battered
I feel overwhelmed
Losing grasp of this realm
From my point of view
